Current & Upcoming...Currently Grayson is starting rehearsals for A Midsummer Night's Dream, where she will be portraying the role of Quince, directed by Patricia McGregor.
Post production for Vivian Barnes new play, HEAP, directed by Colette Roberts is underway. About the play: Do you believe in curses? On a quiet street, a foul smell fills the air. Animals start dropping dead. A child is hurt. Maybe it's just an off day. Or maybe the world is ending. HEAP is a kaleidoscopic imagining of the book of Job seen through the eyes of his nameless wife and the denizens of their present-day, suburban cul-de-sac. Links to performances to come. |
Suddenly Last Summer Praise..."At once tragic and undone, Grayson Heyl creates the perfect failed Southern debutante" - Marla Seidell for Picture This Post
"I don’t recall seeing Grayson Heyl before but on the evidence of her work in this show, she is the real deal. Is there a Blanche Dubois in her theatrical future? I’d see it in a heartbeat." - Dan Zeff for Chicagoland Theater Reviews "As Catherine, Heyl evokes a wild-eyed mania and the thousand-yard-stare of someone who has witnessed something all but unspeakable. Heyl’s performance brings home that Catherine’s trauma has only been intensified by the efforts to make her forget it. She’s been locked up among the truly mad and subjected to electroconvulsive therapy. In Heyl’s frantic, pleading eyes, you can see a woman who’s living terror — as a result of what’s happened to her and for what’s still to come." - Catey Sullivan For the Chicago Sun-Times "a heartbreaking and standout performance" - Elizabeth Ellis for Perform.ink "Magnificent" - Lawrence Bommer for The Stage and Cinema |

A Little About Me
An East Coaster by birth, I gave up the beach living to receive my Bachelor's of Music degree in Music Theatre and Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University. After school and realizing I needed a bit more water in my life, so I headed up to Chicago where I kept the Midwest friendliness, but had a Lake that fuels my water loving soul. Now I continue to migration west to embrace the opposite coast, heading to San Diego to complete my MFA in Acting from UCSanDiego!
I have an insatiable curiosity and itch to learn new skills. I completed my first triathlon in 2016 and look forward to doing another! I believe that laughter is the greatest asset humans have to survive and I'm always up for an adventure or a new recipe to try. Finally, a fun fact: Currently, I have donated over 100 inches of hair to Locks of Love - my first donation was 24" in the third Grade and (other than when I'm under contract for a show) have consistently given since! Thank you for stopping by, and feel free to reach out! |
